Αυτή την Κυριακή (20.00) φιλοξενούμε έναν πολύ αγαπημένο μας σκηνοθέτη, τον Devin Horan στα Τουρκοβούνια. Σε μια προβολή που θα περιλαμβάνει 4 ταινίες του. Το Boundary, το Late and Deep, το The Animals Are Sick With Love και το The Golden Space. Πριν και μετά την προβολή θα υπάρξει συζήτηση με τον δημιουργό.

Στις ταινίες του ο Devin Horan μπορεί να δει το ανθρώπινο πρόσωπο όπως ένα σύννεφο, το ανθρώπινο σώμα όπως ένα τοπίο. Οι μεταβολλές στο χρόνο, αδιάκοπες, αλλά απειροελάχιστες. Συνώνυμες του χρόνου μέσα απ' τον οποίο η ζωή διέρχεται στον θάνατο. Ένας χρόνος απαλλαγμένος απ' το εφήμερο της πραγματικότητας. Ο άνθρωπος υμνείται και θρηνείται όπως ένα αληθινό φαινόμενο.

Στις ταινίες του Devin Horan δεν υπάρχουν υπεκφυγές. Δεν υπάρχουν καλωπιστικά στοιχεία. Η κάμερα γράφει. Το φως μιλάει. Κι όταν η κάμερα μιλάει η γλώσσα είναι ωμή. Πόσο ωμή; Σίγουρα όχι λιγότερο ωμή από ότι είναι η παγκόσμια δυστυχία.

O Devin Horan γεννήθηκε στη Μασαχουσέτη. Εργάστηκε με τον Sharunas Bartas στο Studio Kinema, και η επίδραση αυτής της συνάντησης είναι εμφανής στις πρώτες υπέροχες ταινίες του Devin Horan. Οι ταινίες του έχουν προβληθεί και ξεχωρίσει στα μεγαλύτερα κινηματογραφικά φεστιβάλ, όπως στο Ρότερνταμ, στη Μαρσέιγ και τη Βενετία. Από το 2018 διδάσκει κινηματογράφο σε πολυάριθμα πανεπιστήμια και ιδρύματα ανά τον κόσμο.

This Sunday (8:00 PM), we are hosting a very beloved director, Devin Horan, at Tourkovounia. There will be a screening that will include four of his films: Boundary, Late and Deep, The Animals Are Sick With Love, and The Golden Space. Before and after the screening, there will be a discussion with the creator.

In his films, Devin Horan can see the human face as a cloud, the human body as a landscape. The transformations over time are incessant but infinitesimal. Synonymous with the time through which life passes into death. A time free from the ephemeral nature of reality. Humanity is both celebrated and mourned as a true phenomenon.

In Devin Horan's films, there are no evasions. There are no cosmetic elements. The camera writes. The light speaks. And when the camera speaks, the language is raw. How raw? Certainly not less raw than global misery.

Devin Horan was born in Massachusetts. He worked with Sharunas Bartas at Studio Kinema, and the influence of this meeting is evident in Devin Horan's early wonderful films. His films have been screened and distinguished at major film festivals such as Rotterdam, Marseille, and Venice. Since 2018, he has been teaching cinema at numerous universities and institutions around the world.
